Randall Sadler inducted into Units Hall of Fame

The Units now have two players in the Hall of Fame. Original Units midfielder/defender Randall Sadler joins Frankie Motlop as an immortal Unit. Randall, a largely unobtrusive figure, was much loved by the club for his steadfast loyalty- even though he was hardly ever picked for the senior lineup. In fact, Randall still had only poor experience, despite playing 83 matches over seven seasons for the club, and retiring at 31 years of age.
He will be best remembered for scoring a hattrick in The Units first ever cup win, here are the highlights:
The counterattack by Units resulted in a free kick that Randall Sadler bent under the crossbar - 0 - 1!
A penalty was called after 11 minutes, and Units's Randall Sadler made the most of his chance to put his team up by another goal. 0 - 2 for the visitors.
The home keeper was stunned 37 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by Randall Sadler and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 3. This third goal made a hat trick for Randall Sadler.

The Units Hall of Fame is expected to be further expanded when club legend Charlie "Bud" Tingwell retires after his last ever match this week, a testimonial to the great man against his greatest rivals the Green Loraxes.
