Season 2 Draw announced

By using a combination of tea leaf readings, alignment of the stars, tarot cards and palm readings, independent officials convened to determine the draw for the upcoming Nuclear Cup season.  The draw is linked on the side of this page.
In other news we now have an official Nuclear Cup Anthem (see top of the page) kindly written and performed by Borat Sagdiyev specially for the Nuclear Cup upon request from the manager of More Fire!  We feel this anthem captures the spirit, honour, courage and ideals of the Nuclear Cup.  We hope you will feel as proud as we do when we listen to it.

A new season for a new reason

It has been a time of change for Gaeta. When asked by reporters, "Why the name change to Gaeta FC and what does FC stand for?". The manager of Gaeta FC responded with "This name change represents a new look for the team and stands for ...because we F##'n Can..." He went on to say "nothing much else has changed, we are still focusing on our defence, we still aim to please our fans and we still like dressing up as women on saturday night's...um, what i meant to say was... um... can you edit that bit out" The spokesperson for the Gaeta FC player's association also added, "this name change is what we needed to formalise our commitment to the fans" he then went on to say, "except now we need to have our uniforms changed, unfortunately we were unable to have the new uniform out in time for last weeks friendly, but as you can see we were still able to show our commitment to our major sponsor"

Midfielder found.....

After searching long and hard a suitable midfielder was found to join the might BRAP2 army. Świętosław Kasperczyk of Poland, is 23 and was found wondering the woods by BRAP2 scouts, who quickly offered 1.5 mil for him to join the team. Because of his woodland adventures the youngster is only in weak form, but is still as good as anyone currently in the BRAP2 squad so should do well this season. Next on the list for the scout is a Defender that has presence in the middle.... Where will he find the next recruit?

Units strengthen squad

As the season comes to a close, the Units have been pondering life in Division V. Therefore, substantial investments in players have been made over the past week. The two major newcomers are: 26 year old Spanish midfielder Jorge Arcaya and 25 year old Swiss star forward Dietrich Sigal. Sigal is a record signing for the Units, costing almost $1.5 million.
The fans got their first look at both players today in a friendly against Gaeta, and they liked what they saw. Both players scored a goal on debut, and the little Sigal was particularly impressive rating a mighty 4.5 stars- a first for the club.

In the following interview, future Units legend Sigal answered like a true neutral Swiss person:
Q Are you happy to be with the Units?
A I am moderately happy.
Q From your short time at the club, which of the Units players have impressed you?
A All of the players are equally good.
Q There is a lot of excitement in the Units camp about next season- do you agree the Units will be competitive in Division V?
A I neither agree nor disagree.
Q What are your hopes/expectations for next season?
A For no one to be offended.
